Who we are
KaiMuse ("we", "us") is an app for chatting with AI characters and creating your own. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account: your email address and username, and — for email sign-ups — a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile image.
- Content: messages you send to characters, the characters you create, and related settings such as memory and persona.
- Usage: basic data such as message counts, streaks and feature usage, used to run limits and improve the app.
- Payments: subscriptions are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We receive limited information such as your plan, subscription status and billing period. We never see your full card details.
- Technical: cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember preferences like theme and language.
How we use it
- Provide the service — generate AI replies and remember context.
- Enforce plans and daily limits.
- Keep the app safe — moderation, abuse prevention and age verification.
- Send service emails (for example streak reminders or a weekly digest), which you can turn off in your profile.
- Support you and improve the app.
Sharing
We don't sell your data. We share it only with service providers that help us run KaiMuse:
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
- Google (Gemini) — the AI model provider that generates character replies.
- Stripe — subscription billing.
- Resend — transactional email.
- Discord — only if you choose to link your Discord account.
These providers process data on our behalf and some may process it outside your country.
Your choices
- Edit your profile and privacy settings (for example, hide your email).
- Delete your account at any time in Profile → Security → Delete account. This removes your account, characters and chat history.
- Turn reminder and digest emails on or off in your profile.
Children
KaiMuse is for adults. You must be 18 or over to use it, and we require age verification.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. Deleting your account removes it from our systems, except where we must keep records (such as billing) to meet legal obligations.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We don't use advertising cookies.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we'll post the new version here with a new date.
